I have had a saying for many years. It is simple. “Any idiot can make a sandwich.” Simple? But I will be damn someone yesterday had to test that phrase. I had to run home on my lunch break. So I stopped by one of those fast food sub shops. I will not name it. But Jared knows which one I am talking about. I am not making the following up. The kid behind the counter COULD NOT figure out how to fold the bread to finish making my sub sandwich. I said (out loud), “You have got to be kidding me.” It took 5 minutes for him to do it. And it was not done well at all. It looked like the effort of a 3 year old. This was my “customer service”. I am not mad at the chain itself. Well a little bit I am. I am mad as a taxpayer. Is this what my school taxes are producing as results? I do not want a refund. I want an explanation! How did this kid go through the system and turn out to be so stupid? Simple folding of bread is not an engineering problem.
But I need. More like I want to. I want to believe there is some reason to help humanity. I do not want it to be a “loss cause”.
There has to be something to help out with.
I came across this story. (Please forward if you wish)
It seems simple. A kid’s wish, a piece of paper, an envelope and a stamp. Cheap and easy.
