Proximity

close_proximity

There are times when I just notice things. And then I wonder about them.
I may be right or I may be wrong with my conclusion. But either way there is something going on. It needs some exploration. And I have the time.
Case in point.
I was out for breakfast last weekend to my usual place. The place is not what it used to be. I am not going to name it here. The waitresses (But not all of them, just some) there are not brightest. Over my last few visits, I started to watch their mannerisms for clues. I then noticed their personal choices of hair, makeup, tattoos, and body piercings. (To be fair. I have also noticed this in some of the other eateries in this area.) I began to think about the area. I realized that there are a few adult strip clubs in the nearby area. Their look reminded me of a stripper. Some stereotypes just endure. Women. If you are wearing glitter makeup at your 9AM job. You may want to consider some “career counseling”. I am guessing these women were either working towards or away from a job at those other establishments. I am guessing. I am not going to “scout” those places to see if my observations are correct. Just all these places in that area are causing some “gravitational pull” towards human behavior there.

This location I am going to name. There is a place where Harlem Road, Kensington Avenue and Wehrle Road come together at the Cheektowaga/Amherst border. There is a place where two Traffic Circles right next to each other. You can see how action and inaction combine to make a potential “danger zone”. And fundamental lack of the understanding in the meaning of “Yield”. It is a zone where “awareness” seems to be almost nonexistent.
To the traffic engineer who designed this intersection. You are one Twisted S.O.B.

roundabouts

So the next time you have “WTF Moment”.
Take a moment to study the details of the geography of the surroundings.
It may be a case of there is something more than just “in the air or in the water”.
